Day 3 - Savannah, Georgia
We
left around 7:45 and drove straight through to Savannah. The girls slept in and then ate cereal while
we were on the road. Kate had scouted out our day in Savannah and we followed
her plan. We went to the Visitor’s
Center, then to lunch at a great restaurant she had researched (SOHO South
Café) which we all loved. Next we took a
trolley tour of the city. We got off at
the old home of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts and took a
tour. Then we walked a few blocks and
the girls got ice cream. We got back on
the trolley and finished the tour. We
drove to Walmart, did some shopping and then drove to our campground – Skidaway
State Park. We had a nice site and lit a
fire (largely to drive away the mosquitos), but it was just too hot to sit
nearby.
