Day 9 - Off to Nashville
Today
we drove to Nashville. We started by
going to the visitor’s center, and then walking down the main tourist drag –
Broadway. We bought boots for all 6 of
us(!) – their sign on the door said buy one pair and get two free. It seemed hard to believe, but it was
true. So we bought two pair and got 4 “free”. The markups at the place next door must be
impressive to have similar prices, but only one pair per purchase. Next we went in to one of the Honky Tonk bars
to get some iced tea and lemonade, but they were in-between sets so we didn’t
get to hear any live music. Next we
drove north of town to Andrew Jackson’s estate because Patty wanted to see a “plantation”.
Then we drove back into town to a
restaurant that Katie had chosen – Eastland Café. Again, she made an excellent choice (Patty
says the goat cheese with flatbread appetizer was great). Finally we drove another ½ hour to a nice
campground I had selected (Seven Points Campground) where we had a spot right
on the lake. However, with such a big
day, we arrived just after sunset and didn’t really get to enjoy it.
